Brewster 75, Oroville 32
Game 2.
At Chelan Community Gym

The Brewster and Okanogan girls' basketball teams will collide one more time for the North Central District 1A championship.
The rivals face each other at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Lake Chelan Community Gym. The two warmed up with dominating wins in Tuesday's first round.
No. 2-ranked Brewster rolled to a 75-32 victory over Oroville. The margin might seem like just another day at the office for the defending champs, but they only managed a 14-point win over the same Hornets on Jan. 3.
Okanogan, ranked No. 8 in the state, followed suit in a 54-36 win over Liberty Bell. The combined margin of victory in two previous meetings with the Lions was only 11 points.
The rivals will face each other for the third time, Brewster owning 80-41 and 58-50 victories.
Meanwhile, Liberty Bell plays Oroville in a 1 p.m. Saturday district loser-out game. The survivor plays the district championship loser in a 6 p.m. Tuesday loser-out game.
Jeni Boesel got the host Bears going early, pumping in 10 of her game-high 22 points in a 23-8 first quarter.
Rachel Crane kept it going in the second quarter, when she scored 10 of her 12 points to help the Bears roared to a 54-11 halftime lead. Kaylan Crane finished with 13.
Erica Day led the Hornets with 12 points.
"Good defense led to some easy baskets for us," Brewster coach Bryan Boesel said. "They really played hard tonight."

Game 3. (winner to regional, loser out)
At Chelan Community Gym

The Lions took an early lead and stayed ahead. Senior post Brandy VanHees led the way with 19 points and sophomore wing Sheena Hinkle added 15.
"Brandy has really improved throughout the season and it showed today." said Liberty Bell coach Mike Bourn.
Improvement is the key word for the Lions during the second half of the season. Liberty Bell was 1-7 before going on a four-game winning streak, including a pair of CTL wins.
"Give these girls credit," Bourn said. "At 1-7 they could have folded the tent, but they never gave up and kept working."
Sophomore Larkin McFadden led the young Oroville team with 10 points and junior Ashley Guenther added eight.

Brewster 67, Okanogan 49
Game 4. (Both to regionals)
At Chelan Community Gym

Any Brewster girls' basketball game guarantees plenty of numbers.
This time it's two, as in a second consecutive North Central District "A"  championship for the Bears with a 67-49 win against Okanogan on Saturday. The win also puts Brewster into the State "A" tourney at Yakima to defend its championship.
Brewster improved to 22-0 with its district win. That 22 played a big role for the Bears. It's the number sophomore star Jeni Boesel wears. And the number of points she scored, giving her four consecutive 22-point games. The sophomore also pulled down 11 rebounds.
Boesel scorched the net early with 14 in the first quarter. Included among them was a 3-pointer and a 10-footer, released just before falling to the floor.
"We started out well, but then we started standing around on offense against their zone," said Boesel.
Brewster busted out to early 10-point leads, the last at 18-8. Then Okanogan strung together some important numbers.
Bulldog post Marcie Mitzer led the way. She scored the final four points of the first quarter and kept going.
"We started to be more patient on offense, giving Marcie a chance to get the ball," said Okanogan coach Brett Bartlett. "We wanted to control the tempo and at times we did a good job of that."
Mitzner added 11 in the second quarter, including an off-handed lefty jump hook from five feet. It was part of a 9-2 spurt to tie it.
Mitzner finished with 17 points and nine rebounds. The junior closed out her second-quarter barrage with two more inside shots put Okanogan ahead 26-25.
The lead didn't last as Kaylan Crane hit an outside shot and Nancy Rios a step-around runner just before halftime.
Brewster's second-half emphasis was looking for the open 3-pointers. So the Bears' No. 3, Rachel Crane, started hitting. She drained three consecutive treys, putting Brewster up by 11.
"The Crane sisters really picked us up," said Brewster coach Bryan Boesel.
The pair also helped close out the win with consecutive treys midway through the fourth quarter.
"We have some speed at the top of the zone with the Attridge sisters (Kim and Jill) and they did a good job of covering the outside," the Okanogan coach said. "In the second half, we got tired and that created some open shots."

OKANOGAN (17-5) - Mills, K. Attridge 6, Mitzner 17, Lisenbey 4, J. Attridge 11, Radke, Roberts 4, Tugaw 3, Spaet, Stanger, Walker 4.
BREWSTER (22-0) - R. Crane 16, Pariseau 5, Rios 11, Tostenrude, Boesel 22, K. Crane 13, Saint, Becker, Viveros.
