But the Cashmere Bulldogs almost got in the way.

With the win, the Goats set up a match-up with Okanogan for the district title at 6 p.m. Saturday in Omak. Okanogan knocked off Chelan a pair of times in the regular season to clinch the league title.
The Goats were limited to 27.3 percent shooting in the first half, and didn’t connect on a single 3-pointer before the break.
They responded by outscoring Cashmere 18-9 in the fourth quarter to earn the victory, however.
Kelli Bowers was 2-for-6 from beyond the arc and scored 21 points to lead Chelan to the win. She also had five steals and three assists.

Okanogan 42, Chelan 28
Game 11. (Championship, both to regional)
At Omak, WA

Okanogan shut down Chelan, beating the Goats 41-28, the second win for the Bulldogs over their CTL foes in eight days and the third on the season.
Jaicee Harris, who didn’t play due to another commitment the last time the teams met, was held to just three points in her return for the Goats.
Chelan shot just 19 percent (8-for-42) for the game and had only five players score.
“We pressed them full court the whole game, and we did a good job of closing off their dribbling lanes,” Okanogan coach Gary Smith said.
“I think they were a little frustrated.”
The win guarantees Okanogan a state tournament berth, and the Bulldogs will play just one regional game, against Freeman on Saturday night.
“We played them in the summer and beat them, but there were girls missing on both sides,” Smith said of the Scotties.
“It’ll be the toughest team we’ve played this year.”
The winner will be the region’s top seed to the Class 1A state tournament.
