Cashmere 66, Lake Roosevelt 54

The Cashmere boys basketball
team outscored Lake Roosevelt 23-12 in the third quarter on its way to a
66-54 win in first-round play of the North Central District Class 1A
basketball playoffs on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs trailed 29-28 at halftime before the big third quarter, but
Cashmere head coach Mike Carlquist said the only thing the Bulldogs
changed in the third quarter was "hitting shots." Edgar
Farias started the third with a three-pointer and six different
Cashmere players scored in the quarter.
Bulldog wing Michael Miller led all scorers with 21 points while
post Drew Ross scored 18 points.
Cashmere held Coby Dick and Matt Pleasants -- Lake
Roosevelt's two main offensive threats -- to 13 points each. Ed Wolfe
led the Raiders with 17 points while Dick grabbed eight rebounds. Edgar
Farias collected 10 boards for Cashmere.
The Bulldogs play top-seeded Brewster at 8 p.m. Thursday while Lake
Roosevelt meets Cascade in a loser-out game at 8 p.m. today. Chelan High
School will host both games.
