| Team Notes: This will be
toughest competition the Bears have faced since these two teams faced each
other in the finals of Brewster's Holiday Tournament. Brewster won,
73-60... League and district play was pretty much a cake-walk for
Brewster. Now they will face the toughest part of their
schedule. Will having played in such a soft league hurt Brewster
down the road... Pendergraft and the rest of the Bears will need to
concentrate on the game, rather than complaining of every call against
them. |
Team Notes: The
Bulldogs should be ready for a game like this, having played in the tough
Northeast A League. If the Bulldogs can beat Freeman twice in five
games, then they can beat Brewster. Granted, they will have to be on
top of their game and create some lucky breaks in order to do so, but they
can make life difficult for the Bears... The Bulldogs lost to the
Bears in last years regional title game, 63-44. KF knows in order to reach
the upper echelon of the state's top teams, winning this game will get
them there. |

| Team Notes: Looks
like the Tigers are the new powerhouse in the Caribou Trail League.
Having beaten Brewster twice this season, gives Tonasket that honor... On
December 28th when these two teams met at Freeman's Holiday tournament,
Call had 22 points mostly from in the paint. Shayne Freeman added 16
and Clarkson totaled 14 in that game. Tonasket won, 64-48. The
Tigers used a 17-6 spurt in the third quarter to break up a close game. |
Team Notes: Don't
let the Freeman's 13-13 record fool you because they played a tough
non-league schedule against mostly 2A schools. The Scotties have
won 10 of their last 14 games and claimed a co-league championship with
Colfax... Senior Hendrickson and freshman DePell are leading the team on
offense. Hendrickson made the NEA All-League first team, while DePell and
point guard Baker were selected to the second team. |

| Team Notes: Freeman
will be making its fourth consecutive regional appearance.. The Scotties
are at their best when they play an up-tempo game. This team can hit
the big shot when they need to as well as getting a defensive stop.
Love and Brune are an deadly 1-2 punch combination with plenty of
support. Just when you think those two have been shut down, Dresback
and Soelberg pick up the slack on offense and create even more problems
for opponents. When this team is playing on all cylinders, forget
it. They are unbeatable. |
Team Notes: This
team just keeps getting better and better. The Raiders have done an
excellent job on the defensive end this year, holding opponents to under
50 points a game... Breeze is holding is own on offense just about scoring
at will in the paint. He will need to have another big game for LR,
if they are to be successful against Freeman... Barry was also another key
factor in the Raiders win over Northwest Christian, scoring 16
points...Jason Erickson hit 5-for-6 free throws against NWC all in the
fourth quarter. |

| Team Notes: While
Natalie Shaw will be out for the remainder of the season, the Bulldogs are
still loaded with enough talent to repeat as state 1A champion... Kristin
Watts has picked up where Shaw left on on the offensive end of things. She
has also done an excellent job of taking a leadership role... Bravard has
also come on strong. She continues to make things happen for
Colfax. Looked very good against Freeman in the district
championship. Has really come on offensively. |
Team Notes: The Bears
refused to accept the second place trophy in last week's North Central
District tournament in Okanogan. What possible legitimate reason
could there have been for that?... Jeni Boesel is still the heart
and soul of this team. Averaging just under 30 points a game, she
has said wants to play college ball for Jim Sollars at the University of
Portland next year... It appears the spark is missing from this team. Is
the game still fun for this group of seniors? |
