Todd Fraker is the new girls  head varsity basketball coach at Cascade High School. He is replacing Lisa Bland. Fraker has endorsements in physical education and social studies, but will be hired specifically to coach because there are no teaching positions available at this time.

Fraker comes to CHS from the Quillayute Valley School District, where he taught P.E. and social studies. He was also the head coach of the varsity football team, girls basketball coach and junior varsity baseball coach.

FORKS -- Todd Fraker, a coach of the Forks High School varsity football team for the past 10 years, has been relieved of his coaching duties after he admitted to pushing a student to the ground twice during football practice in August.

The Quillayute Valley School Board voted 3-2 on Oct. 18 to relieve Fraker of his coaching duties with the football and girl's basketball teams.

Fraker was head coach of the football team for the past two seasons, but had voluntarily reassumed the role of assistant coach this season.

The termination of Fraker's coaching contracts worth about $3,500 came after he made the admission, said Frank Walter, Quillayute Valley School District superintendent.

Fraker will continue teaching social studies, English and physical education at the Forks Alternative School.

He has been employed with the district for about five years, most of them as a substitute.
