Jerry Joe Greene

(February 5, 1963 - September 7, 1974)

Jerry Joe Greene, 11, of Omak died September 7, 1974 in Mid-Valley hospital following a bicycle accident.
He was born in Burns, Oregon on February 5, 1963, and moved with his family to Omak in 1970.  He was a member of the Omak Boy Scout troop 60, the Catholic Church in Omak, and attended North Elementary school.
Survivors include his parents, Russell and Eleanor Greene of Omak; two brothers, Dennis Greene of Craigmont, Idaho, and Kenneth Greene of Omak; two sisters Marcia Isakson of Spokane and Patricia Walker of Westport; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Greene of Clarkston.
Rosary services were held September 9, 1974 at the Precht-Harrison chapel in Omak. Funeral services followed on September 10, 1974 at Christ the King Catholic church, with burial in the Okanogan Valley Memorial Gardens. Father John Sand officiated. Precht-Harrison Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Jerry's older brother Ken Greene

Ken was an outstanding athlete at Omak High School who went on to become an all-Pac 10 and all-American defensive back at Washington State University in 1977. He was selected in the first round of the 1978 NFL draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. Ken played for the Cardinals and San Diego Chargers until 1984 as a safety and intercepted 15 passes during his pro career, including seven in 1981. He was an assistant coach at Purdue and Washington State.
