Kelly James Goble, 26, of
Brewster and formerly of Chelan and Monitor, died Saturday, September 2,
1989, as a result of injuries suffered in a plane crash on Stevens Pass.
He was born June 25, 1963, at Longview the son of Gary and Jackie (Swickard)
Goble. He attended school at Longview until 1975 when the family moved to
Chelan. They moved to Monitor in 1980 where he completed his junior and
senior high school years at Cashmere and was active in basketball. He
graduated from Cashmere High School in 1982.
He attended Bellevue Community College and Edmonds Community College where
he played basketball. After graduation, he fished commercially at Bristol
Bay, Alaska
He attended America Flyers at Santa Monica, California, where he trained
for his instrument, instructor and commercial pilot licenses. He moved to
Brewster in 1987 and some private flight instruction, then began working
for Chelan Airways. Since June 1989, he was employed with Temscoe Airlines
of Ketchikan, Alaska.
Survivors include his parents, Gary and Jackie Goble, Brewster; two
brothers, Jay of Portland and Kacy of Brewster; a sister, Gee Gee Gilda,
San Diego, California; and his grandmother Beulah Goble of Longview. He
was preceded in death by two grandfathers and a grandmother.
Barnes Chapel, Brewster, is in charge of arrangements.
Kelly's father Gary Goble was the head boys' basketball coach (25-38) at
Chelan High School from 1975-78. |
